Programs Offered

Our Programs
Our programs proudly offer the following:
Inclusive Workshops and Classes : Our program offers a variety of workshops and classes led by experienced artists and instructors. These sessions will cover different aspects of performing arts, such as acting techniques, vocal training, dance movements, and stagecraft, catering to the diverse interests and abilities of all participants. These sessions further provide such individuals with opportunities to learn new techniques, develop their skills, and explore their creativity.
Workshops
Our program welcomes industry professionals to lead inclusive workshops, allowing our stars to get an even closer look into the professional world of performing arts.

Performance Opportunities
Our program organizes inclusive performances where individuals can showcase their talents and collaborate on theatrical and musical productions. Adapted to accommodate the needs of all participants, these performance opportunities highlight the richness of our diverse population. These performances celebrate diversity, provide a platform for individuals to express themselves, and create visibility by performing out in our community.

Guest Artists & Community Engagement
Our program collaborates with local artists, theater groups, and cultural organizations. These partnerships welcome guest artists to share workshops, mentorship, and wisdom within their craft, exposing our Stars to a wide range of artistic styles and perspectives. Our program actively involves parents, families, and the broader community through open rehearsals and performances, fostering a sense of pride and community involvement.

Inclusive Production Design
Our program ensures that all aspects of performing arts productions, including set design, costumes, lighting, and sound, are inclusive and accessible for individuals with disabilities. This will allow all participants to participate fully in the creative process and the final performances.

Our Curriculum and Program Design
Our curriculum empowers students to discover their potential, express themselves authentically, and build connections with their peers through the transformative power of the arts. Students will receive educational training in performing arts technique as well as have hands-on practice putting on a performance from script to show. Through the vehicle of the performing arts, common ground is instantly created between diversified groups. In addition to the arts exposure, students will experience their direct power within their community and exercise leadership skills in partnering with our Stars.
Curriculum Components

Inclusive Curriculum
The Shining Stars Project has developed a curriculum that caters to the diverse interests and abilities of students, ensuring that all participants feel valued and included. Creating an instant connection in working towards a long-term, shared goal.

Script Development
Working with an original Broadway Review Script structure allows teachers to tailor each line, song, and dance to the individual performer, instead of restricting students.

Individualized Training
Engaging our students in the creation of material brings them into the world of the process. This attention to connection creates an inviting environment to practice sharing those skills with others.

Performance Workshops
Providing workshops where students can learn choreography and songs, allowing them to express themselves creatively and develop their artistic skills.

Inclusive Tech Process
Facilitating an inclusive technical rehearsal process where students learn the magic of theater by experiencing lighting, sound, and stage design, preparing for the final showcase while acclimating students to the technical stimuli.

Culminating Performance
The Shining Stars host a final performance at Modesto Junior College or other designated location, where students can showcase their talents, celebrate their achievements, and share their stories with the community.
